Dr. Paul Agarwal, was the renowned head of electrical engineering at General Motors Research Laboratories in the 1970’s and 80’s, and also an entrepreneur, who held over 60 patents including the electric power steering and anti-lock braking systems.
Paul Dharam Agarwal was born in Ambala, India, on January 21, 1924. He received the B.S.E.E. and M.E. (Hons.) i degrees from Benares Hindu University, Benares, India, in 1944, the M.S.E.E. degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn, N.Y., in 1949 and 1958, respectively. From 1951 to 1957 he was Instructor and Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering at the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn, and from 1957 to 1961, Associate Professor and Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
In 1961 he joined General Motors Corporation, Goleta, Calif., as Head of Electric Power and Propulsion at the Defense Research Laboratories. He transferred to the Research Laboratories, Warren, Mich., in 1966 where he was Head of the Electric Propulsion Department. His special fields of research include energy conversion, advanced electric propulsion systems, and electromagnetic fields. Several of his papers won AIEE and Sigma Xi awards. Dr. Agarwal is a member of SAE, ASEE, Eta Kappa Nu, and Sigma Xi.

Paul D. 'Doug' Agarwal, a prominent figure in Austin's real estate industry was born and raised in Bloomfield, Michigan. His educational pursuits led him to Michigan Technological University where he studied Metallurgical Engineering.
In 1980 he relocated to Austin, commencing an impressive 11-year stint in real estate brokerage. He initially served in a boutique residential brokerage for four years, honing his skills before moving on to Henry S. Miller for the subsequent five years. At Miller, Agarwal's reputation soared as he consecutively ranked as Austin’s top multi-family producer in 1985, 1987, and 1988, and claimed a spot among Texas' Top 10 Producers in 1987 and 1988. During this period, he also launched his own brokerage, Capital Commercial Consultants, Inc., through which he managed to sell 4,880 multifamily units, accumulating a transaction volume exceeding $100 million.
In 1992, Agarwal founded Capital Commercial Investments, Inc., aiming to catalyze value-add real estate investments across the United States. Fast forward to the present, after 30 years and over 200 limited partnerships, CCI boasts a solid base of both private and institutional investors, manages $1.7 billion in Assets Under Management, and continues to adeptly transform commercial real estate into stable assets.
